Menifee, CA – A boy on an electric bicycle was hit and seriously injured while riding through a Menifee intersection Monday evening, according to the Menifee Police Department.

The Menifee Police Department said the teenage e-biker from Menifee was riding southbound on Bellamy and attempted to cross Scott without having the right-of-way.
Police said a 28-year-old woman was driving a sedan eastbound on Scott when she spotted the e-biker crossing in front of her. The woman was unable to stop and tried to veer right to avoid contact. Unfortunately, the sedan's fender hit the bicyclist.
The boy suffered major, but non-life-threatening injuries and was rushed by the Riverside County Fire Department paramedics to a regional medical center. Police said the boy was in stable condition Tuesday.
The car reportedly lost control and crashed through a roadside fence. The female driver was not injured.
Menifee police said impairment is not suspected to have been a factor the crash.
The incident is under investigation.
