Timothy McGregor ID'd as Man Killed in San Ysidro Crash on State Route 905 near Beyer Boulevard
San Ysidro, California (October 31, 2021) – The San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office has identified the man who died Saturday morning following a traffic collision in San Ysidro as Timothy Wayne McGregor, 78, of San Diego.
The deadly crash happened at about 6:43 a.m. Saturday, October 30, on State Route 905 near Beyer Boulevard, the California Highway Patrol reported.
According to the CHP, a truck towing a boat was heading westbound on State Route 905 when it hit a bump on the freeway, which caused the tow hitch to become detached.
The driver pulled over and McGregor, who was riding as a passenger in the truck, exited the vehicle to reattach the tow hitch.

McGregor was pronounced dead at the scene.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
The CHP is investigating the accident.
