Tina Terrell Dies in Nevada Collision on Highway 49 near Alta Sierra Drive

Nevada, California (March 9, 2022) – Tina Terrell, 48, of Grass Valley, was killed in a head-on crash in Nevada on Tuesday morning.
The California Highway Patrol said the collision was reported at about 6:25 a.m. on Highway 49 at Alta Sierra Drive.
Terrell was driving a Toyota pickup truck northbound on Highway 49 when she reportedly swerved to miss a deer on the highway.
The pickup truck then veered into southbound lanes and collided head-on with an oncoming big rig,
Terrell was ejected from her car and was pronounced dead at the scene.
About 100 gallons of diesel fuel spilled following the crash, which was contained in the dirt berm, preventing it from spreading further.
The big rig driver escaped injuries.
The northbound side of the highway was blocked by the big rig trailer for an unknown duration.
More details about the incident were unavailable.
The collision remains under investigation.
