Tommy Chu ID'd as Man Killed in Corona Crash on 15 Freeway and Weirick Road
Corona, California (February 16, 2022) – The man who was killed in a traffic crash that happened in Corona on Saturday morning has been identified as Tommy Chu, 44, of Corona, according to the Riverside County coroner's office.
The incident took place at around 3:07 a.m. February 12, on northbound I-15 at Weirick Road.
Jorge Anival Gomez Augustin, 29, was driving a Mercedes Benz E-350 northbound when he slammed into the rear of a Honda CRVdriven by Chu.

Both vehicles were sent off the side of the roadway and down an embankment.
Chu was reportedly pronounced deceased at the scene.
Augustin was uninjured and was arrested. He was booked into the Robert Presley Jail in Riverside on chargesof second-degree murder, DUI causing death, and DUI causing great bodily injury
The northbound lanes of the freeway were closed for the investigation.
The crash remmained under investigation.
