Tori Sandman Seriously Injured in Highway 104 Accident near Michigan Bar Road in Ione
Ione, California (January 19, 2022) – Tori Sandman, 22, was seriously injured Tuesday evening in a deadly crash in Ione, according to a report by California Highway Patrol.
The collision happened at around 5:44 p.m. on January 18 on State Route 104, just west of Michigan Bar Road, the California Highway Patrol reported.
A 52-year-old man was driving a 2005 Honda westbound on Highway 104 when he allowed the vehicle to cross over the double yellow lines in an attempt to pass a 2022 Ram towing a boat, driven by Kevin Hill, 29, of Sacramento.
The Honda reportedly collided head-on with an oncoming 2013 Acura driven by Sandman. The Honda then slammed into Hill's boat trailer.

Sandman sustained major injuries and was transported to Mercy San Juan Medical Center.
The Honda driver died at the scene. His name was being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
Highway 104 was closed in both directions west of Michigan Bar Road. It is undetermined whether alcohol was a factor in the crash.
CHP is investigating the cause of the accident.
