1 Hospitalized after Mission Bay Accident on I-5 near Clairemont Drive
Mission Bay, California (August 19, 2021) – One person was hospitalized following a traffic crash involving a cement truck in the Mission Bay area on Wednesday night, according to a local news source.
The accident happened on southbound I-5 near Clairemont Drive at about 10:45 p.m.
According to the news source, a car collided with the rear of the cement truck. The truck was pushed off the freeway and it rolled onto its side before crashing into a tree.
People stopped at the scene to help the driver out of the truck.

The driver was then transported to a hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.
No other injuries were reported.
The HazMat team responded to the incident and cleared a diesel spill that was caused by the wreck.
The cause of the collision is under investigation.
