Police said a pregnant woman was pushing a stroller with a toddler inside when they were hit by a vehicle

Fairfield, CA.- An unborn child was killed in a pedestrian accident that occurred on Tuesday evening in Fairfield, according to the Fairfield Police Department.
The crash happened on East Tabor Avenue near Manor Place at around 7:18 p.m. September 24.
Police said a pregnant woman was pushing a stroller with a toddler inside when they were hit by a vehicle.
The woman was transported to a hospital with critical injuries.
Her unborn child died following the accident.
The toddler sustained minor injuries.
The driver of the vehicle was unhurt and stayed at the site of the collision.
DUI was not suspected to have played a role in the incident.
The crash is under investigation.
