1 Hospitalized after Union City Accident on Interstate 880 Freeway near Alvarado Niles Road
Union City, California (December 2, 2021) – At least two people were hospitalized after multiple vehicles crashed Thursday morning in Union City, the California Highway Patrol said.
The 6:32 a.m. crash occurred on the Interstate 880 Freeway, just south of Alvarado Niles Road, on December 2.
The accident began when a gray Toyota Camry overcorrected after swerving to the left for undetermined reasons.
In the process, the Camry crashed with a white Ford F-150 pickup truck in the northbound lanes of the highway.
Due to the impact, the Toyota rolled over onto its roof in the Nos. 2 and 3 lanes while the Ford F-150 pickup truck crashed with another unspecified vehicle.
Interstate 880 Freeway Rollover Crash
At least two unidentified parties were injured in the accident. Shortly after the wreck, medical personnel arrived at the scene and rushed them to a local hospital for medication.
Officials requested tow trucks to remove both the wrecked Toyota sedan and the pickup truck away from the crash site.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
