Emergency personnel said one person died in the crash.
Two passengers were critically injured. One of the victims was possibly airlifted to a hospital in Tucson, and the other was transported by ground ambulance to a local hospital.
Authorities closed the highway between Mule Pass Tunnel and the State Route 90 Junction for several hours as they investigated.

Tucson, Ariz. – At least one person died following a multi-vehicle collision on Thursday evening, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
The deadly accident happened a while before 5:45 p.m. on June 13, on State Route 80 near Bisbee.
The Arizona DPS said three vehicles were involved in the collision.
One person was declared dead due to the crash.
Traffic was blocked following the accident. The roadway reopened at about 5:45 p.m.
