Eloy, Ariz. – The Coroner's office has identified the pilot, 37-year-old Cornelius Van Der Walt, and Atahan Kiliccote, 24, of , California as victims killed in Eloy hot air balloon Sunday morning.

One passenger survived, 23-year-old Valerie Stutterheim, of Scottsdale, Arizona. She was hospitalized in critical condition, police said.

 

Eloy, Ariz. – Authorities have released the identities of two victims among those killed in a hot air balloon crash near Sunshine Boulevard in Eloy Sunday morning.

Chayton Wiescholek, 28, of , Michigan, and Kaitlynn Bartom, 28, of Andrews, Indiana were killed in a crash at around 7:50 a.m. in the desert area near Sunshine Boulevard and Hanna Road.

Eloy, Ariz – Four people died, and another was critically hurt in a hot air balloon crash that happened Sunday morning in Eloy, about 65 miles southeast of , the Eloy Police Department said.

Authorities said the balloon came down around 7:50 a.m. in the desert area near Sunshine Boulevard and Hanna Road.

Eloy police said eight skydivers and five other people had boarded the balloon earlier in the morning.

It appeared the skydivers had planned to jump to the Eloy Municipal Airport. Police said the skydivers exited without incident, but, moments later, the balloon crashed.

Four people died in the crash, and one other sustained critical injuries.

Eloy police, the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) are investigating the accident.
