Fresno County, CA. – A man and a woman died in a collision after running a stop sign at an intersection in Fresno County, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The incident happened around 9 p.m. at Westlawn Avenue and McKinley Avenue.
According to investigators, a 22-year-old Fresno man was driving a Honda Civic northbound on Westlawn Avenue, approaching McKinley Avenue, with a 20-year-old woman as his passenger.
At the same time, a 68-year-old woman was driving a Chevrolet Silverado westbound on McKinley, approaching Westlawn with a 70-year-old passenger.
Authorities said the Honda driver ran a stop sign near the intersection, and the Chevrolet driver hit the right side of the Honda, landing in a grapevine.
The passenger in the Honda was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Honda was taken to Community Regional Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries.
The driver of the Chevrolet was taken to Clovis Community Medical Center with minor injuries. Her passenger was also hospitalized with minor injuries.
The collision is under investigation.

Fresno, CA – One person was seriously injured in multi-car crash at an intersection in Fresno Thursday night.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the mishap happened at around 9:06 p.m. at at W McKinley and N Westlawn Avenues.
Reports revealed that a black pickup, a black sedan, and a third vehicle were involved in the wreck.
One person suffered severe injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
No additional information about the incident was available.
An investigation is underway.
