Escondido, CA. – Authorities have released the name of a 19-year-old man killed in a traffic collision on 15 Freeway last month.
Brian Ray Gonzales was killed in a crash that occurred at around 6:35 a.m. on Interstate 15 near Deer Springs Road.
Gonzales was driving a Chevrolet pickup truck northbound on the freeway when it rear-ended a Ford pickup truck before veering off the shoulder of the highway and overturning.
Gonzalez was pronounced dead at the crash site.

Escondido, CA. – A 19-year-old man was killed in a two-vehicle collision on Tuesday morning in Escondido.
The accident was reported around 6:35 a.m. on Interstate 15 near Deer Springs Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The man was driving a Chevrolet Silverado truck north on Interstate 15 when he collided with a Ford F-150 truck.
The Chevrolet veered to the right shoulder where it overturned numerous times after the collision.
The Murrieta man was killed in the accident.
A 19-year-old female passenger of the Chevrolet was transported to the hospital with major injuries.
CHP says a 24-year-old Descanso man who was driving the Ford was unhurt.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
