, CA. – 55-year-old Eric Pugaczewski died after colliding with an SUV Wednesday morning at an intersection in Oakland, the County Sheriff's Office Coroner's Bureau reported.

Another motorcyclist who was also allegedly involved in the accident fled the scene on foot.

The incident occurred around 9:08 a.m. at 5th Avenue and East 10th Street in the Eastlake area.

According to investigators, Pugaczewski and another person were each riding a motorcycle southbound on 5th Avenue when they collided with an SUV heading eastbound on East 10th Street.

Pugaczewski got ejected from his bike onto the pavement.

The other motorcyclist fled the scene on foot.

First responders took Pugaczewski to the hospital, where he later died.

Police officers said the motorcyclists were wearing their helmets at the time of the crash. The officers are investigating the possibility that the riders failed to stop at a red light.

The SUV driver stopped and remained at the scene.

Authorities are looking for the rider who fled the scene.

Oakland, CA.- A motorcyclist was killed in a collision that occurred in Oakland on Wednesday morning, according to the Oakland Police Department.

The wreck happened on East 10th Street and 5th Avenue at around 9 a.m. on Wednesday, July 9.

A motorcyclist was traveling southbound on 5th Avenue when they collided with a vehicle that was traveling eastbound on East 10th Street.

The rider was rushed to a hospital, where they were pronounced deceased.

The other motorist remained at the scene and reportedly cooperated with the investigators.

The incident remains under investigation.
