Phoenix, Ariz. – Authorities identified the pedestrian who was fatally hit near an intersection in Phoenix early Friday morning as Jaylynn James, 21,.
The Phoenix Police Department responded to the deadly auto-pedestrian crash at around 3:45 a.m. near 35th Avenue and Baseline Road.
Investigators said James was crossing Baseline Road outside of all marked crosswalks when she was hit by a car.
James was pronounced dead at the crash site.
The driver involved did not show any signs of impairment.

Phoenix, Arizona: A pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle early Friday morning near an intersection in Laveen, the Phoenix Police Department reported.
The accident was reported around 3:45 a.m. near 35th Avenue and Baseline Road.
A pedestrian was hit by a blue car under unclear circumstances.
The victim died at the scene.
The accident left the westbound lanes of Baseline Road closed between 35th and 39th avenues until just before 7 a.m.
Police officers are investigating the accident.
