, California (September 10, 2022) – Jose PerezHernandez, 42, of has been identified as the Caltrans employee who was hit and seriously injured by a vehicle on Friday afternoon in San Luis Obispo, the CHP said.

The major injury accident occurred on September 9, on Highway 101, just north of Highway 166.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2006 GMC Sierra, driven by Alexander Ayala, 29, of Santa Maria, was traveling southbound on the highway when it drifted onto the right shoulder, sideswiped a Caltrans , and struck PerezHernandez.

PerezHernandez was seriously injured in the accident and was transported to Marian Regional Medical Center in Santa Maria.

CHP had previously mistakenly identified the victim as Gabina Ibarra, 39, of , but later retracted the wrong identity.

Nipomo, California (September 10, 2022) – A Caltrans worker was struck and seriously injured by a vehicle in Nipomo on Friday afternoon, according to the authorities.

The incident happened on Highway 101 near Tefft Street just after 1:30 p.m. on September 9.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a truck traveling southbound on Highway 101 collided with a plow and struck the Caltrans worker.

The worker was seriously hurt in the accident and was taken to a hospital for treatment.

The California Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
