Wasco, CA. – 30-year-old Juan Domingo Rodriguez Patino died in a suspected DUI accident that happened Wednesday evening near Wasco, authorities reported.
Patino died when his SUV slammed into a parked pickup truck around 6:30 p.m. on Central Valley Highway, also known as Highway 43, near Dresser Avenue.
Police said Patino, a Wasco resident, was driving a GMC Yukon SUV northbound on Central Valley Highway at over 80 mph. He lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a parked pickup truck with a trailer.
The SUV rolled over, and Patino was ejected. First responders pronounced him dead at the scene.
Authorities said the person inside the pickup truck was not seriously hurt.
Investigators believe alcohol played a role in the accident.

The incident occurred around 6:32 p.m. on Central Valley Highway, also known as State Route 43, just south of Dresser Avenue.
According to authorities, a gray GMC Yukon crashed into a parked white truck with a trailer for an unknown reason.
The SUV was reportedly traveling at a high rate of speed prior to the crash.
One person died in the collision.
The No. 2 lane was blocked following the accident.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
