Long Beach, CA. – The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner identified the pedestrian who was fatally hit by three vehicles, including two that fled the scene, in Long Beach as Kristen Advanis, 56.
The accident occurred around 9:30 p.m. Saturday in a marked crosswalk on Ocean Boulevard between Falcon Avenue and S 9th Place.
According to the Long Beach Police Department, Advanis was walking in a marked crosswalk when a dark-colored sedan traveling eastbound on Ocean Boulevard hit him. The driver sped away without stopping to offer help.
A 59-year-old Tustin man driving a 2016 BMW X3 eastbound on Ocean Boulevard then struck the downed pedestrian. That driver immediately stopped after the collision.
A third driver of a dark-colored sedan also traveling eastbound on the same road also hit Advanis and fled the scene.
Emergency personnel pronounced Advanis dead at the scene.
Investigators said speed and distracted driving are considered contributing factors in the crash involving the drivers who fled the scene.

Long Beach, CA.- A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash that happened in Long Beach on Saturday night, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
The incident took place at about 9:30 p.m. June 21, in the area of Ocean Boulevard and Falcon Avenue.
According to the report, a man walking in a marked crosswalk was reportedly struck by a dark-colored sedan heading east on Ocean Boulevard.
The driver then fled the scene after the collision.
A 2016 BMW X3 and another dark-colored sedan also hit the pedestrian lying in the roadway.
The driver of the second sedan also fled but the operator of the BMW remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
The pedestrian died at the scene.
Speed and distracted driving are suspected to have played a role in the incident, the LBPD reported.
The accident remains under investigation.
