, CA. – The Kern County Coroner's Office identified Rachel Breanne Calvillo, 29, of Bakersfield as woman killed in crash at an intersection in Bakersfield on February.

The accident happened at Pioneer Drive and Dennison Lane at around 1:35 a.m. on February 17.

Calvillo was a passenger in one of the vehicles involved and was pronounced dead at the scene.

ORIGINAL STORY

Bakersfield, Calif. – A 29-year-old woman was killed in a Saturday morning car crash at an intersection in Bakersfield.

The crash occurred in the area of Pioneer Drive and Dennison Lane at around 1:35 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.

Police say a 33-year-old Gabriel Coronel of Bakersfield was driving a 2017 Chevrolet westbound on Pioneer Drive when he veered into the opposite lanes and collided with an eastbound 2015 Honda driven by 29-year-old Brayden Aragon of Bakersfield.

The right-front female passenger of the Honda was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two other occupants of the Honda were transported to Kern Medical with unknown injuries.

Coronel, was arrested for felony gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and felony DUI causing injury.

Aragon, was arrested on misdemeanor charges of DUI.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
