Long Beach, CA – The Long Beach Police Department has identified one of the men killed in head-on collision on 7th Street in Long Beach Wednesday morning as Salvador Medina, 37, of Long Beach.
The deadly wreck occurred near 7th Street and Terraine Avenue at around 6:20 a.m. on May 7, according to the Long Beach Fire Department.
Medina was operating an Honda Accord when for unknown reasons a speeding westbound Honda Civic on 7th Street crashed head-on into the Accord.
Medina and the second driver were declared dead at the crash site.
The police shut down 7th Street between Bellflower Boulevard and Santiago Avenue due to the incident.
An investigation into the accident is in progress.

Long Beach, CA – Two male drivers were killed in a Wednesday morning head-on collision on 7th Street in Long Beach.
The Long Beach Fire Department crews were called to the scene of the crash at around 6:20 a.m. on May 7 near 7th Street and Terraine Avenue.
A preliminary investigation revealed that a Honda Civic was speeding westbound on 7th Street when the driver lost control of the car and crashed into a Honda Accord, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
Both male drivers were pronounced dead at the scene. Their names were not immediately disclosed.
7th Street between Bellflower Boulevard and Santiago Avenue was closed during the on-site investigation.
The crash remains under investigation.
