Star Myrick and Richard Myrick were killed after a Nissan veered into the southbound lane of Highway 65 directly into the path of an oncoming Chevrolet and the two vehicles collided

Bakersfield, Calif. – The Kern County Coroner's Office has identified 58-year-old Star Anne Myrick and 64-year-old Richard Eugene Myrick, both of Bakersfield as victims killed in Delano crash mid January.
According to authorities, the incident happened at around 6:43 p.m. on January 17 on the southbound on Highway 65 north of Highway 155.
Delano, Calif. – A 64-year-old man and a 58-year-old woman were killed and a third person was injured Wednesday evening after two vehicles collided on Highway 65 near Delano, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials say a Chevrolet was heading southbound on Highway 65 north of Highway 155 at about 6:43 p.m. on January 17.
For some reason, a Nissan veered into the southbound lane of Highway 65 and collided with the Chevrolet.
The driver and the passenger of the Nissan were killed in the crash. The driver of the Chevrolet was hospitalized with moderate injuries.
The incident remains under investigation.

Delano, Calif. – One person died, and another was seriously injured in a fiery collision that happened Wednesday evening near Delano, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The accident occurred around 6:43 p.m. on northbound Highway 65 near Highway 155.
According to the CHP report, a Dodge Ram pickup truck and another vehicle were involved in the accident.
Both vehicles flipped onto their roofs after the first impact. The second car caught fire and became fully engulfed.
Police officers, firefighters, Caltrans, and other emergency personnel responded to the scene.
CHP said one person died in the crash.
A medical helicopter was requested to airlift another person to the hospital.
One driver was taken to Kern Medical Center with major injuries, including a broken left leg and a shattered right femur. It was not clear if he was the one who was airlifted.
The report said the driver had been drinking prior to the collision but was not under the influence.
Northbound Highway 65 was shut down at Highway 155, and southbound Highway 65 was closed at Avenue 2 following the collision.
Authorities are investigating to determine the cause of the collision.
