Watsonville, CA. – Authorities arrested 34-year-old Tristan Jeremy Madiclum Obligacion of Oakland on suspicion of impaired driving after a car collision that left seven people with injuries Saturday in Watsonville.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident was reported around 11 p.m. on Salinas Road near Elkhorn Road south of Pajaro.
Investigators said Obligacion was driving an Infiniti FX35 southbound when he drifted into the northbound lanes and hit a Chevrolet Silverado head-on.
The 23-year-old Moss Landing man driving the Silverado and his juvenile passenger were hospitalized at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital with moderate to major injuries.
Obligacion had four passengers of ages ranging from 18 to 35 in his car at the time of the crash. The driver and all passengers were hospitalized at Natividad Medical Center. At least two of them sustained broken bones, and two others suffered head or neck injuries.
Police officers arrested Obligacion on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.

An Oakland resident was driving an Infiniti FX35 southbound on the highway when he drifted into the opposite lanes and collided head-on with an oncoming Chevrolet Silverado.
The impact of the collision caused the SUV to overturn.
The 23-year-old Moss Landing man driving the Chevrolet and his juvenile passenger were taken to a hospital with moderate to major injuries.
The driver of the Infiniti and four passengers were injured in the accident and were transported to the hospital for treatment.
