Update: Woman Killed in Tacoma Wrong-Way Crash on I-5 Identified

Tacoma, Wash. – Angelica Roberto Campos, 52,of Puyallup has been identified as a woman killed in wrong-way crash on in Tacoma early Sunday morning.

Campos was involved in a crash at around 3:38 a.m. on Interstate 5 near Joint Base Lewis-McChord.

Campos suffered severe injuries and was transported to Madigan Army Medical Center, where she later died.

The 40-year-old man who was driving under the influence was also hospitalized at Madigan Army Medical Center. He was accused of DUI and vehicular homicide.

Tacoma, Wash. – A 52-year-old Puyallup woman was killed and a 48-year-old Puyallup man hospitalized after a wrong-way crash in Tacoma early Sunday morning.

According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision was reported at about 3:38 a.m. on Interstate 5 near Joint Base Lewis-McChord.

Reports indicated that, a 40-year-old Arlington man was driving a 2001 Acura southbound in the northbound lanes when he crashed into a 2011 Nissan with two people from Puyallup inside.

The woman and the man in the Nissan were transported to Madigan Army Medical Center and St. Joseph Medical Center respectively.

The woman was pronounced dead at the hospital while receiving treatment.

The names of the victims were not immediately disclosed.

More details about the wreck was not provided.

The collision remains under investigation.
