Valentin Carranza Among 3 Injured in Porterville Crash on Road 236 near Avenue 68

Tulare County, California (September 15, 2021) – Valentin Carranza, 41, of Earlimart, was among three people who were injured Thursday evening in a head-on crash in Porterville, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The two-vehicle crash happened at around 7:09 p.m. Thursday, September 9, on Road 236 near Avenue 68.
The CHP said Crystal Morales, 23, of Terra Bella, was driving a 2016 Honda Accord northbound on Road 236 at an unspecified speed when she crossed over the solid double yellow lines into the southbound lane to pass other vehicles.
For unknown reasons, the Honda collided head-on with a 2010 Chevrolet Silverado that was southbound on Road 236 at approximately 45 to 50 miles per hour, driven by Carranza.

Morales sustained major injuries and was airlifted to Bakersfield Memorial Hospital.
Carranza and his passenger were taken by land ambulance to Kaweah Health Medical Center with moderate injuries.
No further details regarding the collision were immediately provided.
