1 Injured in Vallejo Car Accident on Interstate 80 near Tennessee Street Off-Ramp
Vallejo, California (April 15, 2022) – One person was hospitalized after a multi-vehicle accident that took place early Friday morning in Vallejo, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The incident was reported at around 3:28 a.m. on westbound Interstate 80, just east of the Tennessee Street off-ramp.
A white Honda Accord, a BMW sedan, and a white pickup truck collided under unclear circumstances. All the vehicles had their airbags deployed. The vehicles were blocking the Nos. 1 and 2 lanes. The crash also left several sand-filled attenuators destroyed, and sand and debris scattered in the Nos. 1 and 2 lanes.
Paramedics responded to the scene and transported one person to Sutter Hospital in Vallejo for treatment of neck pain.
The Toyota acquired major rear-end damage, the BMW major rear-end and front-end damage, and the pickup truck major front-end damage. All vehicles were towed away from the scene.
Caltrans officials were requested to respond and help clear the debris and sand.
CHP is investigating the accident.
