Veronica Jaimes Killed, Six Injured in Elysian Park Car Crash on 5 Freeway (Golden State Freeway) at Stadium Way

Los Angeles, California (December 28, 2021) – 67-year-old Veronica Aguirre Jaimes has been identified as the woman killed in a multi-vehicle collision in the Elysian Park neighborhood in Central Los Angeles Friday morning
According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, the crash was reported at around 8:07 a.m. on the southbound side of 5 Freeway at Stadium Way, near the Dodger Stadium. The 5 Freeway is also known as Golden State Freeway.
Authorities said at least eight vehicles, including two big rigs, were involved in the collision.
Details on what led up to the crash at this time are unknown.

Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene and extricated an unknown number of people who were trapped in their vehicles.
Veronica Jaimes was pronounced dead at the scene.
At least six other people including a 67-year-old woman, a 29-year-old woman, and an 11-year-old girl, sustained unspecified injuries in the crash.
No further details about the crash were immediately available.
The accident remains under investigation.
