Victorville, CA: 55-Year-Old Man Killed in Fiery Head-On DUI Crash on Village Drive

, California (February 7, 2022) – Lacey Cecenthia Vickers was arrested for DUI and manslaughter after a 55-year-old Victorville man died in a fiery head-on crash Sunday night in Victorville, as per a local news source.

The 30-year-old woman has numerous prior DUI arrests, according to police.

Victorville Police Department received reports of a fiery crash on Village Drive near Street at around 11:06 p.m.

Police arrived at the scene to find a Jeep SUV engulfed in flames after it had collided with a Cadillac sedan. A deputy sheriff used a fire extinguisher to put out the flames and then shattered the driver's side window and pulled Vickers from the driver's seat.

The 55-year-old Victorville man driving the Cadillac was pronounced dead at the scene. His name was not released pending family notification.

An initial investigation by the Victorville Police Department's Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) revealed that the deceased was driving south on Village Drive and Vickers was northbound on the same road. For unknown reasons, both cars collided head-on in the center lane.

Vickers was taken to a trauma center for treatment of minor injuries.

Investigators said the woman was arrested for gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and suspicion of driving under the influence, causing death. She was expected to be booked into the West Valley Detention Center after being released from the trauma center.

Police also added that Vickers has numerous prior DUI arrests.

Northbound Village Drive between Llanada Avenue and Clovis Street was closed for several hours as authorities investigated.
