Victorville Crash on Fifth Street near C Street Kills Bicyclist
Victorville, California (December 7, 2021) – 29-year-old Hector Castro Loaeza, of Victorville, has been arrested following an alleged hit-and-run Victorville bicycle accident that left a 15-year-old boy dead Monday afternoon.
The deadly crash took place at about 2:01 p.m., December 6, on Fifth Street near C Street.
A vehicle driven by Castro Loaeza south on Fifth Street hit the boy while riding his bicycle westbound across C Street.
Officials affirmed that Hector did not stop to render aid and escaped the crash site.
Fatal Victorville Bicycle Crash
The cyclist died at an area hospital at 3:19 p.m. while undergoing treatment of life-threatening injuries sustained in the crash.
Meanwhile, Loaeza was located, arrested, and booked at High Desert Detention Center on suspicion of DUI causing death, hit and run resulting in death, and gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.
The crash resulted in the closure of North and southbound Fifth Street and east and westbound C Street for an unknown time.
An investigation into the deadly accident is underway.
