Walter Taylor Seriously Injured in Mono Way DUI Crash in Sonora

, California (December 21, 2021) – Walter Taylor, 22, of , was seriously injured in an alleged DUI crash Friday evening in Sonora, according to a California Highway Patrol report.

The crash, involving three vehicles, occurred just after 6:00 p.m.  Friday, December 17, in the 13400 block of Mono Way near Sullivan Creek.

As per the CHP report, Austin Crook, 23, also of Stockton, was driving a 2009 Mazda6 sedan on Mono Way when he allowed the vehicle to veer off the road and slammed into two unoccupied cars in the Peppery restaurant's parking lot.

Austin Crook Arrested For DUI Following Sonora Crash on Mono Way

Taylor, who was a passenger in the sedan, was transported by ground ambulance to Adventist Health Sonora with major injuries.

Crook was treated for minor injuries before being arrested for felony DUI resulting in bodily injury. His bail was set at $25,000.

Police closed a section of Mono Way near Highway 108 as they investigated the accident.
