1 Killed and 2 Hospitalized after Watsonville Crash on Highway 20 at Old Chittenden Road
Watsonville, California (April 6, 2022) – According to the California Highway Patrol, one person was killed, and two others were seriously hurt in a Highway 129 crash that occurred Wednesday afternoon in Watsonville.
The wreck was first reported at about 4:18 p.m. on Highway 129 at Old Chittenden Road.
At least two vehicles were involved in a possible head-on collision. At least one of the cars had its airbags deployed, and glass debris was scattered in the roadway.
Firefighters and paramedics responded to the scene and confirmed that one person died in the collision.
Two air ambulances were requested to respond and transport two people who suffered serious injuries. At least one of the patients was taken to Natividad Medical Center.
The Animal Control Unit was also requested to respond to the scene for a dog in one of the vehicles.
The highway remained blocked in both directions for several hours following the wreck.
