The OSP said two motorcyclists were traveling northbound on Highway 101 when they tried to overtake a car on a bend and saw a southbound GMC Sierra approaching

Clatsop County, OR.- Wesley Dalton Leraas, 30, was killed in a motorcycle collision that took place in Clatsop County on Saturday afternoon, according to the Oregon State Police.
The crash took place on Highway 101, near Milepost 32, just before 3:45 p.m. November 30.
The OSP said two motorcyclists were traveling northbound on Highway 101 when they tried to overtake a car on a bend and saw a southbound GMC Sierra approaching.
The riders moved back into the northbound side to avoid the Sierra but the motorcycles ended up colliding.
The impact sent one of the riders, identified as Leraas, into the path of the oncoming Sierra and was struck head-on.
Leraas was killed in the crash.
No one else was hurt in the accident.
Speed and unsafe passing are believed to have played a role in the incident, authoritiessaid.
The investigation is ongoing.
