Riverside Man Dies after Crash at Jurupa Avenue and Van Buren Boulevard in Riverside

Riverside, California (March 9, 2022) – The Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner identified the man killed Tuesday afternoon in a Riverside crash as 28-year-old William Castro.
The Riverside man died in a three-vehicle collision that happened at about 12:30 p.m. at Jurupa Avenue and Van Buren Boulevard.
According to the Riverside Police Department, the accident involved a Dodge Durango SUV, a Honda Accord and a Scion.
Police said a 36-year-old Banning man was driving the Dodge west on Jurupa and entered the intersection as the Honda and the Scion were crossing in the southbound lanes of Van Buren.
The Dodge crashed into the Honda and then the Scion.
The report did not mention if the SUV ran a red light.
Castro was the driver of the Honda. He was found in grave condition by paramedics with the Riverside Fire Department. The paramedics rushed him to Riverside Community Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead at 3:57 p.m.
The Banning man and the driver of the Scion were not hospitalized.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
