Keyt was driving a 2006 Jeep Wagoneer southbound when he slammed into the back of a 1973 Mack dump truck

Steven County, WA. – William W. Keyt, 88, of Rice was flown to the hospital after being involved in a two-vehicle crash on Friday afternoon in Steven County.
According to Washington State Patrol, the accident happened around 1:30 p.m. on State Route 395 near milepost 214.
Keyt was driving a 2006 Jeep Wagoneer southbound when he slammed into the back of a 1973 Mack dump truck.
Both vehicles came to a stop in the southbound lanes after the crash.
Kety was airlifted to Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane with severe injuries.
The truck driver, 58-year-old Peter G. Maresca, from Chewelah, was not injured.
Meresca remained at the scene and cooperated with the police.
The accident remains under investigation.
