Bakersfield, Calif. – UPDATE: A woman was struck and killed by a truck at an intersection in Rosedale Tuesday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The fatal collision happened at about 6:03 a.m. in the area of Old Highway 58 (Rosedale Highway) and Rudd Avenue.
Reportedly, a 42-year-old woman was walking northbound across eastbound lanes of Old Highway 58, west of Rudd Avenue. The woman, who was walking outside of a crosswalk, walked directly into the path of an eastbound 2021 Chevrolet pickup truck, operated by a 37-year-old Bakersfield man. The pickup struck and killed the woman.
The name of the woman was withheld pending notification to the next of kin.

Bakersfield, Calif. – A pedestrian is dead after they were struck by a vehicle at an intersection in Rosedale Tuesday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash happened at about 6:03 a.m. in the area of Old Highway 58 (Rosedale Highway) and Rudd Avenue.
Firefighters responded to the scene and located a pedestrian down on the roadway after being struck by a vehicle. The fire crews declared the pedestrian deceased at the scene.
