1 Person Dies, 2 Others Injured in Crash at Rosemont Intersection

Rosemont, CA. – A woman died, and two others, including a child, were injured in a two-vehicle collision that happened Sunday evening after a car ran a red light at an intersection in Rosemont.

The accident occurred around 5:50 p.m. at South Watt Avenue and Kiefer Boulevard.

The California Highway Patrol and Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District responded to the scene.

The responders found a Lexus sedan and an Infiniti sedan involved in the wreck.

A preliminary investigation revealed that a man was driving the Lexus south on Watt Avenue and a woman was driving the Infiniti east on Kiefer Boulevard with a man and a child in the car.

Authorities said one of the cars ran a red light at the corner and caused a crash.

The woman driving the Infiniti was hospitalized with major injuries. She later died while receiving treatment.

The man in her car was hospitalized with moderate injuries, and the juvenile passenger sustained minor injuries.

The driver of the Lexus did not suffer injuries.

Authorities are investigating to determine which car ran the red light, as well as other factors that may have contributed to the accident.
