Authorities said a 45-year-old woman was critically hurt after she was hit by a car while crossing near Queen Creek Road and Val Vista Drive.

Gilbert, AZ. – A 45-year-old woman died after she was hit by a car Thursday evening near an intersection in Gilbert.
Gilbert police said the accident was reported around 7:45 p.m. near Queen Creek Road and Val Vista Drive.
The pedestrian was hit and critically injured while walking near the intersection.
Emergency personnel rushed the victim to the hospital in critical condition, where she later died from her injuries.
Authorities did not give details about the driver and car involved.
Investigators closed the intersection until around 1 a.m. Friday.
