Woman Suffers Injuries After Imperial Beach Accident at Coronado Avenue and Hollister Street

Imperial Beach, California (August 12, 2022) – A woman, 34, was injured after a car accident on Wednesday afternoon in Imperial Beach, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The accident occurred at about 5:16 p.m. Wednesday, August 10, at Coronado Avenue and Hollister Street.
Officials confirmed the woman was driving a Ford Mustang coupe from the Interstate 5 offramp when she drove into the junction and was hit on the side by a patrol vehicle. The patrol car was operated by an officer from the San Diego County Sheriff's Department's Imperial Beach Substation.
Fire officials and medical personnel arrived at the scene and attended to the woman who suffered injuries due to the collision. The name of the patient and her current condition were not immediately provided.
The deputy was reportedly responding to an emergency call when the collision occurred.
An investigation is underway.
