Amador County, CA – A 70-year-old woman was killed and two others hospitalized after a multi-vehicle collision on Highway 88 in Pine Grove Monday afternoon.
The Amador Fire Protection District responded to the wreck at around 12:22 p.m. at Highway 88 and Toyon Road.
Officials said the Toyota hit the front of the Buick, then hit the rear of the Nissan, which was pushed forward, hitting the rear of the Honda. The Toyota then overturned onto its roof and the driver was ejected.
The driver of the Toyota, a 70-year-old woman from Volcano, died from her injuries.
A driver and passenger from the Nissan had moderate injuries and were taken to an area hospital for treatment.
A driver and passenger from Buick also had minor injuries, but were not taken to a hospital, officials said.
No further details regarding the mishap were provided.
An investigation is underway.
