Jada Gipson Killed in Culver City Crash at La Cienega Boulevard and Wrightcrest Drive

Los Angeles, California (June 20, 2022) – Jada Taylor Gipson, 22, of Palmdale, was killed in a Saturday night car crash in Culver City.
At around 10:16 p.m. on June 18, the California Highway Patrol and Los Angeles Police Department responded to a traffic collision at La Cienega Boulevard and Wrightcrest Drive.
Gipson was driving her car southbound on La Cienega when she was rear-ended by another car.
Palmdale Woman Killed in Violent Crash in Los Angeles Identified
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The condition of the second motorist was not immediately established.
An investigation into the accident is underway.

Culver City, California (June 19, 2022) – A 23-year-old woman was killed in a two-vehicle accident at an intersection on Saturday night in Culver City, authorities said.
The accident happened at about 10:15 p.m. on June 18, at La Cienega Boulevard and Wrightcrest Drive.
According to the police, the woman was driving a white sedan southbound on La Cienega when she rear-ended another vehicle in unclear circumstances.
As a result of the crash impact, the sedan reportedly drifted off the roadway and crashed into a light pole, splitting the vehicle in half.
First responders arrived at the scene and extricated the second vehicle's driver.
Sadly, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
Traffic Collision Fatalities Reached a 16-Year High in 2021, Early Estimates Show
Newly released estimates by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) show that fatalities reached a 16-year high last year.
According to the Early Estimate of Motor Vehicle Traffic Fatalities in 2021 report released by NHTSA, about 42,915 people were killed in traffic collisions in 2021. This shows a 10.5% increase from the 38,828 fatalities reported in 2020. NHTSA says the projection is the highest number of traffic deaths since 2005 as well as the largest percentage rise in the history of the Fatality Analysis Reporting System.
The report indicates that the traffic fatalities in the following categories showed relatively large increases in 2021, as compared to 2020;

- Fatalities among drivers 65 and older rose by 14%
- Pedestrian fatalities up 13%
- Fatalities in crashes involving at least one large truck up 13%

- Fatalities in speeding-related mishaps up 5%
- Fatalities in police-reported, alcohol-involvement collisions up 5%
