The woman had exited her vehicle after colliding with a stalled Mercedes when another vehicle crashed into the rear of her Honda, hitting and injuring her

San Francisco, Calif. – A woman was hit and killed by a suspected DUI crash early Sunday morning following a traffic collision on the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge, according to the California Highway Patrol.
At 3:16 a.m. on January 14, CHP officers responded to reports of a traffic collision on 80 Freeway at the bridge west of Yerba Buena Island off-ramp.
According to the CHP, the first incident involved a white Mercedes SUV and a blue Honda Civic. The SUV had broken down in the freeway's second lane from the left and was struck by the Honda.
After the collision, the Honda driver exited her and was standing outside when a gray Honda Civic slammed into the rear of the blue Honda. The female driver was injured in the second incident.
The woman was rushed to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead. Her name has been withheld pending notification to the next of kin.
The driver of the gray Honda was taken to the hospital for complaints of pain. Both the driver of the Mercedes SUV and the gray Honda were arrested on suspicion of DUI.
The incident remains under investigation.
