The woman died at the accident scene and the man was taken to the hospital in critical condition
Fresno, CA. – A woman died and a man was injured after being struck by a car on Friday night in Fresno.
The fatal collision happened around 9 p.m. on Santa Ana Avenue near Fashion Fair Mall, according to the Fresno Police Department.
Officers attempted to pull over a car near Gettysburg Avenue and First Street but the driver failed to yield and sped off into a residential area where it struck a man and a woman.
The vehicle drove off and later crashed into a pole near Thesta and Santa Ana. The driver of the car fled the scene and was yet to be located.
The woman died at the accident scene.
The man was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
