, Calif. – A woman in her 60s died after being struck by a car on Friday night in Panorama City.

The auto- accident happened near Roscoe Boulevard and Wakefield Avenue at around 6:05 p.m., according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the woman was walking northbound on Wakefield Avenue and was struck by a car traveling westbound on Roscoe Boulevard.

The unidentified woman was found unconscious on the road and was transported to an area hospital where she died while receiving treatment.

The driver of the involved car did not stop at the scene and was yet to be located.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
