Woman Killed in Suspected DUI Car Accident in Cathedral City Identified

Cathedral City, Calif. – Authorities have identified 48-year-old Enma Calbillo of Cathedral City as a woman killed in a car crash Sunday night in Cathedral City.

The deadly wreck was reported at around 11:21 p.m. on Date Palm Drive near Varner Road on December 24.

No additional information about the collision was provided.

An investigation is underway.

Cathedral City, Calif. – A woman was killed in a suspected DUI car crash on Sunday night in Cathedral City, according to the Cathedral City Police Department.

The collision happened on Date Palm Drive near Varner Road at around 11:21 p.m.

21-year-old Angel Torres was driving a vehicle northbound on Date Palm when he made an unsafe turn into the southbound lanes and struck two other vehicles.

A woman driving one of the vehicles was killed in the accident.

Torres fled the scene but was later apprehended and booked into John Benoit Detention Center on suspicion of being under the influence of alcohol and/or narcotics.

More details about the accident were not released.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
