Woman Killed, Man Injured in Redding Car Crash on 5 Freeway near Bonnyview Road

Redding, California (January 14, 2022) – A woman was killed in a Friday morning head-on collision involving a big rig in Redding.
The deadly collision happened on Interstate 5 just north of South Bonnyview Road at around 1 a.m.
California Highway Patrol said a woman was driving a Lexus sedan northbound in the southbound lanes of I-5 when she collided head-on with an oncoming semi-truck.
Both vehicles caught fire and came to rest in the center divider after the collision.

The woman driving the Lexus was killed in the accident. The identity of the deceased was not immediately disclosed.
The 43-year-old man driving the semi-truck suffered minor injuries in the accident and was transported to Mercy Medical Center in Redding for treatment.
