Woman Hurt in Livermore Car Accident on I-580 near Livermore Avenue
Livermore, California (August 20, 2022) – A woman sustained major injuries in a traffic accident that occurred in Livermore early Wednesday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The incident took place on Interstate 580, just east of Livermore Avenue at around 2:47 a.m. on August 17.
According to the CHP, a woman was driving a Toyota Camry westbound on I-580 when she crashed into a concrete wall.
The Toyota came to a rest in the fast lanes and the woman was able to exit her vehicle.
Shortly after, a Nissan Altima slammed into the Camry and the driver, who was standing next to her vehicle.
The Toyota burst into flames following the collision.
First responders pulled the driver of the Toyota from the wreckage and performed life-saving measures on her.
The woman was then transported to Eden Hospital in Castro Valley with severe injuries.
The operator of the Nissan sustained minor injuries.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
