, California (May 9, 2022) – A woman was seriously injured in a southwest Fresno collision involving two suspected DUI drivers that occurred early Sunday morning, according to the Fresno Police Department.

The wreck happened on Chestnut Avenue, just south of , at around 1:45 a.m. on May 8.

According to the report, a white Chevy was stopped at a red light on Chestnut Avenue when it was hit from behind by a Chevy Cruze.

The driver and a passenger in the truck stepped out of their vehicle to speak with the other motorist, and the passenger was struck by a gray Lexus.

The impact sent the woman nearly 15 feet from the point of the collision.

The woman sustained major injuries to her head and upper torso.

She was transported to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment.

The drivers of the Lexus and the Chevy Cruze were arrested on DUI charges.

The drivers were identified as Lanian Lee, 36, and Cornelio Cedillo Ramirez, 50.

Lee was booked on charges of DUI causing injury, driving with a 0.08% alcohol level causing injury, and driving with a suspended license.

Ramirez was booked on charges of DUI causing injury and driving with a 0.08% alcohol level causing injury.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
