Phoenix, Ariz. – A woman was struck and killed by a car at an intersection in west Phoenix Thursday night, according to Phoenix police.
The deadly pedestrian crash happened at about 9:30 p.m. on March 21 in the area of 51st Avenue and McDowell Road.
According to the police, investigators believe the woman was walking midblock on McDowell Road when she was struck by a car heading westbound. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Her name was not released pending next of kin notification.
Police say the driver of the car remained at the scene and cooperated with detectives, adding that the man showed no signs of intoxication.
The incident remains under investigation.
