Yingyathaij Lee ID'd as Man Killed in Fresno Truck Accident on Highway 99 near Herndon Avenue
Fresno, California (October 4, 2021) – The Fresno County Coroner's Bureau has identified the man who died early Sunday morning following a multi-vehicle crash in Fresno as Yingyathaij Lee, 31, of Clovis.
At around 2:19 a.m. Sunday, October 3, the California Highway Patrol officers responded to northbound Highway 99, just south of Herndon Avenue, to investigate a report of a traffic collision.
According to the report, two vehicles collided in the northbound lanes of the highway. Following the collision, one of the involved vehicles, described as a gray Hyundai Sonata, became disabled on the roadway.
Moments later, a northbound white Isuzu box truck approaching the crash site attempted to swerve to avoid the wreckage but slammed into a Toyota Camry that had stopped on the right shoulder to help the driver involved in the initial crash.
The Camry came to a rest on the dirt shoulder while the box truck continued in an easterly direction and flipped onto its left side.

The driver of the truck, now identified as Lee, died at the scene of the crash.
Two other people riding in the truck were transported to Community Regional Medical Center with moderate injuries.
A passenger in the Camry also was taken to the same hospital with moderate injuries.
Alcohol was not considered a factor in the crash.
The wreck is under investigation.
