, California (July 2, 2022) – Yuan Li, 71, of Fremont, has been identified as the victim of a deadly accident that occurred in Fremont on Wednesday evening, according to the Fremont police.

The incident happened in the area of Driscoll Road and Carmen Street at around 5:25 p.m. on June 29.

According to police, Li was walking his bicycle in the bike lane on the west side of Driscoll Road when an SUV swerved into the bike lane and struck him.

Li sadly died at the scene following the accident.

The driver who struck Li was not injured and stayed at the scene.

Police said the driver did not show any signs of impairment.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.

Fremont, California (July 1, 2022) – According to a local news source, a man walking with his bicycle was fatally struck by a vehicle on Wednesday at an intersection in Mission District in Fremont.

The collision happened around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 27, at Driscoll Road and Carmen Street.

As per the report, authorities said that the man, 71 years, was walking with his bicycle in the cycling lane south on Driscoll Road when a 71-year-old SUV driver hit him. The driver was heading south when he veered into the bike lane for reasons still under investigation.

Responding firefighters and medical personnel declared the pedestrian dead at the scene.

The SUV driver did not suffer injuries following the crash. He remained at the scene and cooperated with the officials. Police did not suspect impairment as a factor that led to the crash.

An investigation by the Fremont Police Traffic Investigations Division is ongoing.
